National Rankings
Reinforce Salisbury
University’s Commitment
to Student Success
SALISBURY, MD—Annual college rankings highlight universities that are helping
students succeed, measuring everything
from academic quality to return on investment.
Recognized among the nation’s best
colleges for three decades, Salisbury
University again appears in several
national guidebooks and publications,
delivering on what matters most to students and families.
“When I look at the national recognition SU has received this fall, I see something more meaningful than a collection
of rankings,” said SU President Carolyn
Ringer Lepre. “I see confirmation that the
work we do every day is helping our students build successful futures.”
SU junior Marley Stutzman is one of
those students. She grew up going to
Ocean City, MD, with her family, and fell
in love with Salisbury on her very first
college tour.
“Since becoming a student here, I
feel more at home than ever,” she said.
“Being part of this campus community
is so special. There is nothing that compares to being a Sea Gull. I love being
a Franklin P. Perdue School of Business
student and have learned so much. Any
other student you ask can say the same
about their school and their major.”
Her twin brother also chose SU’s wellknown Samuel W. and Marilyn C. Seidel
School of Education to pursue a physical
education major and health education
minor.
Experiences like those of the Stutzman
family reflect the qualities behind SU’s
rankings: a supportive community, academic opportunities and sense of belonging.
This year, SU was included in Time
magazine’s inaugural “America’s Best
Colleges” ranking. SU placed No. 315
among 500 institutions nationwide, with
the rankings focusing significantly on
student outcomes, including graduation
rates and graduate earnings.
For decades, SU has been lauded
for academic excellence, value, student
services, facilities, and its beautiful campus. Time’s recognition highlights another
important measure of a college education: what students can achieve after they
graduate. It reflects SU’s commitment to
providing an exceptional college experience and the foundation for a successful
future.
Other recent rankings underscore that
dedication, as well.
U.S. News & World Report ranked SU
among the nation’s Best Colleges for the
30th consecutive year. SU is among its
Top Public Schools and Best Regional
Universities in the North. Three SU online
graduate programs are also ranked (business, education, and nursing).

The Princeton Review once again
named SU among the nation’s top fouryear higher education institutions in its
2027 edition of The Best 392 Colleges.
What makes this recognition especially
meaningful is that it incorporated the
voices of students.
They described a welcoming and supportive community, dedicated faculty and
staff, opportunities to explore their interests, and an environment that encourages them to discover what they are capable of becoming. The Princeton Review
also recognized SU as a Best Value
College, a Best Mid-Atlantic College, and
a Top 50 Green College.
Money magazine likewise included
SU among its “Best Colleges in America.”
Its four-star assessment of SU considered educational quality, affordability and
student outcomes.
And for the 14th consecutive year,
Washington Monthly recognized SU
among the best values in higher education. Salisbury ranked 66th for affordability among institutions in the Northeast
based on criteria including access, affordability, outcomes, and public service.
These accolades reflect the impact
of an SU education and the dedication its students, faculty and staff. They
showcase SU’s vital impact on students,
the Delmarva region and Maryland as a
whole.
While rankings and accolades provide
valuable external validation, their true
significance lies in what they represent:
students discovering their passions, faculty and staff creating opportunities for
growth, and Sea Gull graduates leaving
campus prepared to make meaningful
contributions in their careers and communities.
This year’s rankings reinforce what the
SU community experiences every day: a
university dedicated to helping students
thrive and build a strong foundation for
tomorrow.
