37, chief financial officer, Orioles
Darline Llamas Llopis grew up in Los Angeles during the
peak of the Pete Carroll era at USC and was immediately
hooked as a fan for life, but sports were not on her radar
when she first entered the professional world. After starting
in public accounting, however, a client helped connect her
to the Los Angeles Rams and she jumped at the opportunity.
Following four seasons as the director of finance and
controller for the Rams came stints with the Miami
Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium and the Formula One Miami
Grand Prix group. In April, Llamas Llopis joined the Orioles
to oversee their financial operations and strategy as part of
a wave of hires under owner David Rubenstein.
“I’ve always been a little bit attracted to chaos when it
comes to business aspects of things,” Llamas Llopis said.
“When I joined the Rams, they had just moved to L.A.
When I joined Miami, they were just doing their F1 race
and that was basically a startup. And so coming here and
rethinking about how we do our business and being part
of that was super exciting.”
