More Than a Degree:
Salisbury University M.B.A.
Students Reimagine
Tomorrow’s Possibilities
SALISBURY, MD—When professionals decide to return to school, it’s rarely
about adding letters after their name. It’s
about momentum: the desire to grow,
pivot, or lead with greater purpose.
For students in Salisbury University’s
Master of Business Administration program, that decision often begins with
a simple realization: Tomorrow can be
more than today.
Salisbury University’s M.B.A. program was recently named among
the top 30 business programs in the
nation in Fortune magazine’s flagship
ranking, Best Business Schools and
M.B.A. Programs—an honor that places SU among an elite group of business schools nationwide. The program’s
quality has also been affirmed by U.S.
News & World Report, which for the
eighth consecutive year has ranked
SU’s online M.B.A. among the nation’s
best. These distinctions speak not only
to academic quality, but to how well the
program serves real people balancing
real lives.
For many students, the path to graduate study winds around full-time jobs,
families, changing responsibilities, and
evolving goals. Offered fully online, in a
hybrid format, or through evening classes, SU’s M.B.A. allows students to continue building their careers while earning
their degree. Accelerated options mean
some students complete the program
in as little as nine months, while others
move at a pace that fits their schedules.
For many, that flexibility is what turns
a long-held goal into something attainable.
Like many graduate students, Ben
Malley was balancing ambition with
responsibility. What he found at SU
wasn’t just a degree path, but a way
forward — one that met him where he
was and pushed him toward where he
wanted to go.
“SU’s M.B.A. program helped me
understand how all parts of a business really work together,” Malley said.
“Seeing the connections between
operation, marketing, and leadership
changed how I think about organizations and my own role in them.”
That shift in perspective didn’t stay
in the classroom. Through his graduate assistantship and work with SU’s
football program, Malley found himself
applying the lessons he learned in class
almost immediately.
The M.B.A. curriculum spans
accounting, finance, economics, marketing, management, and information
systems, with an emphasis on clear
thinking, sound judgment, and effective communication. Students aren’t just
learning theories, but practicing how to
lead under pressure, adapt to uncertainty, and make decisions that matter.
The ability to connect theory to practice is central to the M.B.A. experience
at SU, where students participate in
simulations and live consulting projects with community clients. These

real-world experiences aren’t offered
as add-ons, but as core elements of
the program. The result is an education
that feels relevant, practical, and deeply
fulfilling.
“What stands out to me most is how
prepared I feel for my future career,”
Malley said. “I’m excited to take what
I’ve learned and apply it in an organization where I can grow, professionally
and personally.”
As students move through the program, that growing sense of readiness
is matched by something else: connection. At SU, small class sizes and
close interaction with faculty and peers
create an environment where students
are known, challenged, and supported
as individuals. Professors get to know
their students not only as learners, but
professionals with individual goals and
aspirations. Students also make professional and personal connections with
their peers, who come to the program
from different regions and industries,
but all with a shared sense of purpose.
Alumna Natalie Paoli ’23, M’24 experienced that support firsthand.
“Being surrounded by people who
desire to be great pushed me to be the
best version of myself every day,” Paoli
said. “I am so grateful for the professors
and mentors who not only helped me in
the classroom, but were also interested
in my athletic and personal success.
Everything I’ve learned at SU is something I will carry forward into my career.”
The same focus on growth, connection, and real-world impact shapes
graduate education across SU. Beyond
the M.B.A., graduate students at SU
pursue advanced study in fields ranging
from nursing and social work to English,
conflict analysis and dispute resolution,
geographic information systems management, public communication, education and more. Doctoral programs
include the Doctor of Nursing Practice
and an online Ed.D. in literacy studies.
Across disciplines, students engage in
applied research, collaborate with community partners, and gain experience
that translates directly to the workplace.
For those considering a graduate
degree or simply wondering if now
might be the right time to take the next
step, Salisbury University offers something both rare and powerful: possibility.
