W
hen The Classic Catering
People was voted Baltimore’s
Best Caterer in the Baltimore
Sun Readers’ Choice Awards, we were
honored. But more than anything, we
were grateful.
Awards like this are never the result
of one person, one event, or one great
meal. They are the result of thousands of
moments that happen behind the scenes
every day. They belong to the chefs who
arrive before sunrise, the event staff who
ensure every detail is in place, the sales
team guiding clients through important
milestones, the drivers loading trucks in
every kind of weather, and the operations
team that keeps everything moving.
For more than four decades, The
Classic Catering People has been proud
to serve the Baltimore community. From
weddings and corporate events to non-
profit galas, school functions, family celebrations, and neighborhood gatherings,
our mission has always been simple: to
create memorable experiences through
exceptional food and genuine hospitality.
Baltimore is a city built on relationships, resilience, and community, and
we are proud to have been part of those
moments for generations of families,
businesses, and organizations throughout the region.
As we enter a new chapter under
the ownership of Alex Mathov, our focus
remains on honoring the legacy that
has made Classic a Baltimore institution
while continuing to invest in our people,
our clients, and the future of our company. While leadership has evolved, the
values that have defined The Classic
Catering People for more than 40 years
remain unchanged.
Community involvement has always
been at the heart of who we are. Each
year, we support dozens of nonprofit organizations throughout the region,
partnering with groups that strengthen
Baltimore and improve the lives of our
neighbors. Whether through fundraising events, community partnerships,
food donations, or volunteer efforts,
we believe our responsibility extends
beyond the events we cater.
What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that it comes directly
from the people of Baltimore. It reflects
the trust our clients place in us for some
of life’s most important moments and the
confidence our community has shown in
our team year after year.
As we celebrate this recognition, we
do so knowing that it belongs to every
person who has been part of our story,
our clients, venue partners, vendors,
community organizations, and team
members past and present. Together,
they have helped shape who we are
today.
While we are proud of what we
have accomplished over the past four
decades, we are equally excited about
the opportunities ahead as we continue
