Long Term Care Ombudsman Program:
Receives and resolves complaints made by
or for residents of long-term-care facilities. Advocates for residents’ rights and

Respite Care Referral Program: Maintains a registry of screened and trained
self-employed home care workers to assist older adults or people with disabilities
in their homes. This is a self-pay program:

Living Well Series: Offers workshops on
how to manage chronic conditions such as
diabetes, high blood pressure and heart
disease. Free workshops are held at senior

Senior Center Plus: Provides specialized
activities for adults 55 and older in all senior centers. Costs $20 per day. 410-2224464.
Congregate Meal Program: This program
provides a lunch five days a week to seniors and some people with disabilities.
There is no charge, but donations are accepted. Reservations one week in advance

Senior Farmers Market: Coupons are
available to low-income seniors enrolled in
certain federal and state programs to be
used at authorized farmers markets and
with authorized farmers. The coupons are

Senior Medicare Patrol: A project to combat fraud and abuse in Medicare and
Medicaid, this program provides public
education to increase senior awareness of

Telephone Reassurance: Provides daily
phone calls at a specific time of day to
older adults who may be frail, isolated or
