workers is a woman, the seventh-highest rate
among the 50 states.
About 13.6% of Maryland's 234,000 construction employees are women. Maryland's rate is

changed little in two decades.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’

industry of the three, construction employs
2.1 million women, transportation/warehousing 1.3 million and architecture/engineering/related services about half a
million.
