PUBLIC LIFE
STATE, FEDERAL CONTACTS
Who are Anne Arundel County’s state and federal representatives?
By Natalie Jones
The Maryland legislature meets for
three months at the beginning of the year,
and many of the representatives also
work in the private sector. The presiding
officers of each chamber, Senate President Bill Ferguson and Speaker of the
House Adrienne A. Jones, are allowed
to call the members back for special
sessions.
At the State House, Anne Arundel
County is represented by 16 delegates and
six senators. Following the 2022 election,
11 delegates are Democrats, and five are
Republicans. Five senators are Democrats and one is Republican.
