why he needed to increase the training.
Kait jokes to her friends now: “He’s the only
person I know who loves their job.” But she’s not
the only one who’s noticed.
River, their 8-year-old, tried a few sports without
feeling a spark for any. But then, he saw his father
glow.
“They don’t hear him say, ‘I have to go’ but, ‘I
want to go.’ It’s good for them to hear that,” Kait
said. “I mean, there are days I don’t want to go to
work, but he’s put such a positive spin on it, it’s
changed the way I look at things.”
After last season’s end, Oliveira Santos turned to
his wife and said, “I don’t know if I’ll do it again.”
But she knew he had to.
“He’s 38 and going back to do this right now sets
such a good example for me and the kids to work
hard,” Kait said. “I love it. I’m so proud.”
