Bouquet of daisies
A pedestrian walks past the colorfully painted, summer themed windows at Zachary’s Jewelers on Main Street on May 18, 2023.
I spotted this painted flower pattern on the
windows of Zachary’s Jewelry Store on Main
Street in Annapolis.
I knew it would make a good shot if the
right person walked in front of the window.
That is when I saw the woman in the green
coveralls walking up. She was the perfect stem
for the pretty petals.
As a photojournalist, I capture life hap-

pening naturally. I waited for her to pass the
window. She walked around the sidewalk
talking on the phone and went everywhere
but in front of the windows. Eventually, I was
able to photograph the moment she did finally
walk by.
With this photo, I felt like I gave our readers a beautiful bouquet of daisies printed in
the newspaper that day.
